The Studio Performing Arts Center opened in 2006 with the goal of offering excellent instruction in all three performing arts: Dance (ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, lyrical, contemporary), Voice (Singing/Musical Theatre), and Acting. Founded by P.K.Van Voorhees (B.F.A. “with Distinction”, Music Theatre/Dance, University of Michigan), the purpose for The Studio was to develop a conservatory-level experience where all three performing arts could come together and follow a comprehensive and well-thought out curriculum. Our focus is to develop the whole student – artistically, intellectually, aesthetically and technically in a nurturing and positive environment.
Performance opportunities include our Dance Company and our Acting Company, as well as an annual studio-wide Collage Concert in early June featuring and showcasing the entire studio within each students’ skill set.
The Dance Company performs several times a year with an original storybook dance production (a full theatrical production), as well as performances for charities such as the Make A Wish Foundation, Junior Achievement, Festival of Trees and more. The goal of the Dance Company is to develop young dancers continually into the highest level of their abilities – whether to prepare for a career in dance, experience professional level productions or to reach a level of excellence and achievement they can be proud of. Grounded in Russian ballet technique (Bolshoi), along with elements of Italian and French styles for choreography, we go artistically far beyond pageantry/competition dance to real technique and ability.

ACTORS and MUSICAL THEATRE students are automatically in the Acting company, where we put on plays in intimate, black box theatres, as well as scene showcases for Family & Friends Nights. The focus is on intimate acting technique and personal growth, and not on large-scale production extravaganzas. The training students receive in Acting and Musical Theatre helps them with improvisation, thinking on their feet, public speaking and creativity – all skills they will need in their lifetimes!

Spartan Dance Center is the capital area’s elite dance studio. We offer dance for all levels from recreational to competitive, with multiple programs to fit your family. As instructors and educators, our dance programs implement life skills that go beyond the dance floor and carry into the world around us. Join Premier Dance Company for the 2023-2024 School Year! PDC is the Area’s leading dance program for recreational and competition dancers! Premier Dance offers a variety of dance styles taught by instructors that specialize in or are certified to teach in those styles. Powers Dance philosophy is based on a genuine interest in each student’s personal growth. We believe that our students can only reach their true potential through a healthy approach to achieving their goals. Serious students that take advantage of Powers Dance’s complete program will be better prepared for professional work in the field by developing a strong technique, stage presence, and personal style. Living Arts Dance Studio (Living Arts) has added more classes, expanded our offerings, created LA dancewear, and producing our Halloween Spooktacular October 2023. We are proud of our award winning Living Arts Dance Team and know how a healthy dance experience is a great way for a healthy life. New programs this year include Hip-Hop/Acro, Pom/Tumbling and Pom for sport dancers.
