You may remember our feature of the local organization, Simply Love. We wanted to meet the remarkable mom who brought the organization to life—Brittani Hall. Brittani has a heart of gold and is doing fantastic, selfless things in our community! In between her busy life with two, sweet girls– Brittani is in her second year of projects with Simply Love.
This year the group smashed their goal and gave away over 400 Easter baskets away to local at risk children and she’s now hard at work on Mother’s Day giveaway baskets full of items to pamper single moms! “They have only scratched the surface with what they can do as a community,” says Brittani and East Lansing Area Moms completely agrees.

Hi Brittani! Please introduce yourself-
Hi! I have been a stay at home mom for the last 7 years with periodic times of cleaning homes for clients. Most recently I started a non profit called Simply Love which has kept me busy!
Where are you from originally and where do you live now?
I grew up in the small town of Gladwin, MI. We currently live in East Lansing and couldn’t be happier!
You’re a mom! How many kids do you have and what are their ages? What is your favorite thing about being a mom?My husband and I have 2 girls ages 7 and 5. My favorite thing about being a mom is getting to laugh with my girls and watch them grow and become their own person.
What’s your favorite thing to do when you need some “me time”?
I love running, baking, reading and wandering around Hobby Lobby with a coffee.
How do you juggle work with being a mom?
I have a great husband that really helps with me getting things done. I do a lot of it during our kids lunch time as well as the evenings.
You started the Simply Love organization! Tell us exactly what Simply Love is and how it came to be.
Simply Love believes simply loving others makes a big difference! We believe that love conquers everything and if we can be an example of this we can and will make a difference in the world around us.
I have such a heart for people and meeting them right where they are and that’s how Simply Love came to be. I read a lot of Bob Goff’s books and have come to realize that loving others and meeting them where they are is the greatest accomplishment you can have in your life.
What types of donations are you looking for from local area businesses?
The type of donations always depend on the type of event or giveaway we are doing at the time. Currently we are gearing up for an event for single mamas that otherwise wouldn’t receive a Mother’s Day gift. The kids get to come shop, get a free family photo and enjoy a snack all for free! Our community has been so generous that this event has already been funded and all items have been purchased! We feel so thankful for this! That being said it would be amazing for a local business to provide a coffee cart or juice bar for the moms to be served at while their kids pick out her gifts! Also if a business would provide lunch for our volunteers at the single moms event! Our volunteers are rock stars and we would love to be able to provide a great lunch for them.
Everyone loves to help! What is the best way the public can help with Simply Love?
We always welcome monetary donations so we can impact those around us as we see a need! Sharing what we do on social media is always a great way to be apart of our mission! The more people that know about our work means the more lives we can impact!
What is next for Simply Love?
Since doing our 400 Easter baskets we have been in full force planning for Mother’s Day for 100 single moms as well as two big basket giveaways for any mamas!
This summer we would love to visit parks and give bubbles, chalk, and popsicles. Also we plan to do a dinner in the park event free for anyone that comes! Looking forward we want to be able to help teachers with back to school supplies and kids with new items needed for school.
What are your go-to restaurants and shops in the Greater Lansing area?
We love Asian Buffet! I think Mother Baby Earth is the cutest little store and love coffee from Fosters. 🙂
