The weather as of late has been a preview to warmer days ahead! A few foods scream “summer” and hot dogs are on the top of the list! The Local Moms Network shared this FUN and EASY hot dog bar from a favorite food blogger, Jessica Merchant of How Sweet Eats. Mom to Max and Emilia, she’s also the author of two gorgeous cookbooks, Seriously Delish (2014) and Pretty Dish (2018), and her next book, Everyday Dinners (to be released May 4 and available for preorder).
Jessica is known for her comfort food with a twist – calls it, “trashed up!” And with this idea she keeps it pretty basic. We will be making this hot dog bar that is fun, simple and guaranteed to please adults and kids alike. Jessica includes all the classics – a Chicago Dog and Caramelized Onion and Cheese Dog – as well as unexpected creations like the Hawaiian Dog or Mexican Street Food Dog – we are sure they will be fast favorites.
Jessica says her kids love making their own creations as much as she did. “I find that when my kids can help of choose their own toppings, they enjoy their food more and are more inclined to try new foods. It sparks creativity!”
